THEATER BIOGRAPHY

For 20 years, Amra-Faye played the role of Velma Kelly in the hit musical Chicago on Broadway and worldwide. Starting with the original UK tour, then London’s West End, Europe, USA tour, New Zealand and she has also become a regular in Japanese productions of Chicago, creating an unlikely fan base after playing the role in Japanese. A highlight was performing in the South African production for which she won Naledi & Fleur du Cap awards.

She trained extensively as a classical and jazz dancer, beginning her professional career dancing in the multi-million-dollar Extravaganzas at Sun City in Southern Africa, and later taking over as Star turn. During this time, she studied for a Fine Art Degree and began serious training as a singer, developing skills in various musical genres (Jazz vocals – Jazzwize - London; Dipl. in Contemporary Music - Allenby College, Johannesburg) 

After a summer season at the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo, she became a regular as star of the Cabaret du Casino in Monte Carlo and thereafter starred in Musical Revues around Europe and the Far East, performing in French, Italian, German, Korean and Japanese. 

She has written and performed several award winning, one-woman Revues in South Africa, and has been a regular on the cabaret scene in London and New York. She continues to be in demand for big event Corporate Productions worldwide. Some concert highlights include performances at The Royal Albert Hall and Lincoln Centre.
